    Salvation (Latin: salvatio; Ancient Greek: σωτηρία, romanized: sōtēría; Hebrew: גאולה ‎, romanized: g'ulah; Arabic: الخلاص ‎, romanized: al-khalāṣ) is being saved or protected from harm or being saved or delivered from a dire situation. In religion, salvation is the saving of the soul from sin and its consequences. Salvation delivers the believer from the power of sin (see discussion on Romans beginning at Romans ) Salvation carried tremendous meaning in Paul’s day, the most basic being “deliverance,” and it was applied to personal and national deliverance.
